ALL YOUTH-LED MISSION TRIP 2018: JUNE 5-10 2018, CLEAR LAKE, TEXAS

WHY AYM?

AYM is short for All Youth-Led Mission Trip. AYM is a week of service learning for youth and adults. Students and Adults donate a week of their summer to serve our neighbors in need by living out our faith.  AYM is open to all youth, who have completed 6th-12th grade. The dates for this year's trip are Tuesday June 5th - Sunday June 10th. We will be traveling to Clear Lake, TX, staying at Clear Lake United Methodist Church and serving in the surrounding area.

This year we will be introducing some new types of work teams. We are inviting students who have completed 4th-5th grade to come along and be part of a hybrid work team. This type of team will tackle a variety of projects throughout the week, they may be volunteering in shelters, yard work, volunteering with young children, or delivering meals!

Youth and adults serve together on work teams (4 or more youth and 1 or more adults) as equal participants in all aspects of service. Work teams are grouped together and are supervised by Work Group Leaders who provide support and assistance.

In  addition to serving on a work team; students and adults are needed to serve in ancillary camp leadership roles to help coordinate our sites, tools, safety, and kitchen, as well as worship and program activities.

AYM provides free home repairs to homeowners who are unable to physically or financially make necessary repairs to their homes. Typically AYM teams construct wheelchair ramps, porches steps & handrails, replace siding & paint homes, repair floors, windows & doors, as well as yard work and other minor construction projects.

Beyond the physical work, participants experience daily devotions, worship and recreation opportunities designed to foster Christian community, fellowship and spiritual growth.

Serving allows us to share God's love, live God's word and grow God's kingdom. Serving others in loves helps us align our hearts with God, grow closer to God and one another.

Cost: $100
